Nursing scrubs and different types of fabrics used in their making.

The reason for an individual to wear nursing scrubs is to have ease in doing a variety of complicated and hazardous jobs during which there is a chance of abrasions and extremely long stretches. The contemporary scrubs are specially designed to be quite up to the minute. They are extremely comfortable and give your body enough room so that you can move freely, shield your body from any probable danger, promote cleanliness, all at the same time. That being the contemplation in mind of the designers of modern scrubs, the choice of garment to make the scrub is extremely imperative, as this directly affects all of the above mentioned expanses.

Unlike the old times, today’s nursing scrubs are made with an assortment of materials like linen, polyester, cotton, a blend of polyester and cotton, and even bamboo knit fabric. All of these materials have their own advantages and disadvantages. As far as pure cotton is concerned, it is easily washable and hard wearing fabric. It is quite gentle and breathable. However, the maintenance cost of cotton is on a higher side and it tends to crinkle quite easily. On the other hand polyester does not crinkle that easy and is washable without any problem, but this fabric doesn’t allow your body to breathe and due to which your body gets hot and sweats a lot. The reason to make a garment with a combination of polyester and cotton is to blend the positive aspects of both of these materials. The natural fiber of linen is hard to clean and crinkles quite easily but clothing made with it, sure looks beautiful. The bamboo fabric is a comparatively new material of clothing with much promise, as by nature it is capable of destroying or inhibiting the growth of disease causing microorganisms and it is also a renewable resource.

The giant names in the field of scrub production are very well aware of the significance of the choice of material and have preferred to follow diverse aspects of present fabric technology for their scrubs. For example, most of the Dickies scrubs are made with a blend of polyester and cotton, which is pretty flexible, super soft, and is able to stretch ergonomically. Medline advocates the flexibility and the breathability of the material for their scrubs, which is capable of taking away moisture from your body. Skechers make scrubs with special wrinkle free material and some of their other products are made purely with anti-microbial bamboo fabrics. Landau is another big name that is quite well known for using anti-microbial fabrics for their scrubs. Some of the other big names have gone so far as to trademark its new advanced research clothing technology, which is commonly known as ARC.

I am sure you must have found that blog post quite useful in finding a suitable nursing scrub for you. I look forward to hear from you in the comments section regarding your experience with different fabrics of your scrubs and what you found best for yourself.
